Lauren Bacall & Humphrey Bogart
The amazing couple, one of my favourite of Hollywood's lovers.
The perfect gentleman and the perfect femme fatale.
Smart, posh and smoky, they were an incredible couple, on and beyond the screen.
Bacall & Bogie were made for each other.
Nineteen-year-old Lauren Bacall met 44-year-old star Humphrey Bogart at the Warner Brothers studio in 1943. Lauren would have preferred to work with Cary Grant for the film "To Have And Have Not", she didn't like the idea of working with Humphrey (she said "yuck!"). But months after the shoot, against all odds, the work relation ended in marriage among the stars of
"To Have And Have Not".
"I hope Bogie knew how much I loved him, how much he meant to me, how I highly valued him. I've had another life since then, but he was my first love, and you never forget your first love."
